its for sports med. my teacher just said to find alternates for each one. I am confused as well.

What’s the point of the exercise? To get you to see that there are alternatives to the usual things? That if you don’t have the above things you need to think outside of the box?

1. gloves (Playtex dish washing gloves)
2. ibuprofen/ aspirin (tylenol,aleve)
3. thermometer (There aren’t many other ways to take a temp)
4. antacid medication (baking soda mixed with water)
5. anti-diarrhea medication ( Foods that bind)
6. saline solution (lactated ringers, dextrose solution)
7. hydrocortisone (steroids are the best anti-inflamms but there are options; NSAIDS, Topical ointments, etc)
8. adhesive tape (Any tape, gauze wrap)
9. tweezers (needle nose pliers)
10. triangle bandage/ arm sling (long gauze wrap, anything to wrap the arm and keep it immobilized)
11. calamine lotion (some people find oatmeal based lotions, etc soothing for itching. Benadryl can help ease itching)
12. breathing barrier (What do you mean?)
13. anti-histamine medication (Pepcid has histamine blocker effects)
